Emmett Till, Case Closed

Picture of Emmett Till

There will be No Justice for Emmett.

His confessed killers are dead. The woman who was used as the reason for the lynching and mutilation of Emmett Till will not have an indictment handed down against her.

Will we ever know what it was that she said to her husband? Did she encourage him to commit violence? Did she try to stay him from leaving in a rage? Did she ever have one moment of regret for what was wrought in defense of her womanhood? Will she ever apologize? We know she'll never go to jail for it. Makes me understand (even as I don't subscribe to the view) of why hell exists.

Here’s your hypothetical question of the day: If it ever happened that America attacked Iran because of alleged nukes, and later confirmed it had no nuclear weapons program, and we discovered that the administration knew it all along, would it be in the best interest of the citizens of the United States to overthrow their government?
