Is Ted Haggard Gay?

If he is, I feel sorry for the men that slept with him. Whether he is or isn't, I still think he is a despicable person. If you haven't seen Jesus Camp, by all means, treat yourself to a movie this weekend. Ted makes an extra cocky special appearance in between his weekly meetings with our President to tell us how he is administering to our nation's youth. He left out the part about the glory hole, though.

Hey... "glory hole" does sound kind of soul savin', as in: "Lord have mercy...I'm goin' to be sucked I mean saved at the glory hole!" It would be nice if everyone bought chicken, biscuits, greens, and various Jell-O marshmellow delights to share after they had "repented". It's hard work!

The story is just breaking, so you still have time to put on your Sunday best for the Republican Sermon on the Who Mounted Who.

Republican Party Joins With NAMBLA

Well, the latest nasty Republican scandal is Rep. Mark Foley who engaged in a sexual email exchange with an underage teen on his staff...on taxpayer money. The Republican leadership, right up to Hastert, Reynolds and DeLay, KNEW about this months ago and did nothing, allowing a sexual predator to remain a Republican Conrgessman in good standing. The layers of sleaze are deep and disgusting in this scandal. The transcripts of the email exchange are now public and pretty graphic.

Now let's remember that the Republican Party went after Clinton for having consensual sex with a consenting adult on his staff. But they TOLERATE and PROTECT Foley, a man who breaks the lawe by soliciting sex with an UNDERAGE staff member. Where is the moral outrage, Tom Reynolds (NY Republican)? Why did you wait so long, Tom DeLay (TX Republican) while a sexual predator was on the loose? Why did you wait until it became public, Dennis Hastert (Republican Speaker of the House), before you acted? These three men KNEW ABOUT FOLEY'S illegal and immoral acts but DID NOTHING for months. Only once the scandal hit the papers did they scramble to act all shocked. But they weren't shocked. They knew and they did nothing to stop a sexual predator. Their actions are not worthy of Congressmen so much of members of the sleazy NABMLA. Is this what Repubublicans are all about? Displaying the morality of NABMLA? Hell, at least NAMBLA is HONEST about their immorality.

QUOTES

When people in the media wish to criticize bloggers they should start naming names and start being specific. If we aren't important enough to be engaged specifically than ignore us. It's fair to talk about the blogosphere as a collective at times as it's fair to talk about the mainstream media as a collective at times, but complaining about the nasty tone of the whole party is just cheap and sloppy journalism.

The greater sin of Cohen today was implying that blog readers are balkanized into political camps and are therefore uninformed and stupid. That's one of the worst misconceptions of people who read blogs who are, after all, the people who are most interested in news and political debate - interested enough spend a more than healthy amount of time online keeping up to speed. Cohen shows contempt for the people most likely to know who he is and care about what he writes.
