Daryl Hannah
was on talk radio yesterday talking about this when baited with the Al Gore-hypocrite climate change crusade.
I only knew her from her movies and the old tabloid dates with JFK Jr before this, never heard her speak as herself. She impressed the hell out of me in the next half-hour or so, with her prodigious practical knowledge, commitment, personal integrity AND her reasonable, temperate (pun intended) tone even about causes when she obviously feels so passionately that heated rhetoric would be understandable.
She talked about positive ideas that she loves and hopes to share with others for positive change, instead of things to be afraid of, and how lecturing people or beating them over the head, trying to force change with political power etc just doesn't persuade people to make the kinds of changes that the world needs. She isn't running "against" anything. She was running "for" and seemingly "alongside" changes that I can care about without having to argue!
And she hardly ever flies, lives in a solar powered one-bedroom, one bath house and drives a biodiesel powered vehicle.
