In 2004, the DNC was barred from using John Kerry in its fundraising pitch until after the Boston convention. If this is indeed being done by a PAC, which I highly doubt - PACs are limited to $5,000 per cycle to a Federal candidate - it could plausibly be construed as wire fraud, which is a federal felony.

And let me put down, for the record of Stupid Wallnerisms, the idea that Obama has so much money that he doesn't need to do phone-based fundraising. That's so off-base that it richly deserves inclusion in the top ten of Wallnerisms.

But as I've said before, the ability to log on to a blog doesn't imply that one actually has the competence to say something of merit.
