Boycott Advertisers
Imus is a disgrace this guy and his low-life. This guy has no guts but to pick on defenseless black female basketball players, acting like he was on a 1950's White Citizens Council radio program in the deepest part of Mississippi or Alabama.
Many in the broadcast industry are saying that black outrage will simmer after a week or so. I have another view. "Black folks need to begin to boycott all products who donot pull out from broacasting with Imus by Monday of next week, otherwise there needs to be a boycott those advertisers.
I salute Monitor-Plus, a unit of the Nielsen Company for it's decision not to no longer advertise on Imus’s show because of his controversial remarks last week. We also salute American Express. I wonder why General Motors is just suspending its advertising while monitoring the situation. As much money is black folks spend with General Motors they need to stop advertising all together. We salute Procter & Gamble for temporarily suspending all of its daytime advertising from MSNBC. We a glad that Proctor & Gamble is standing and doing what is right. We urge them not to continue advertising until Imus is gone, and MSNBC comes up with policies which will make sure this won't happen again with an Imus replacement or other radio persoanlity.
The fact of the matter is Don Imus' Future Will Depend on Advertisers Read this:
CNBC's Donny Deutsch, the host of "The Big Idea" and self-described "ad sherpa, says that sponsorship, more than politics, may spell the professional doom of radio host Don Imus.
Speaking on "Power Lunch," Deutsch talked about Imus' comments about the Rutgers University womens' basketball team with Sue Herera. Deutsch said "what really matters" is when the advertisers weigh in. "It's about money."
Deutsch gave an example: "The CEO of Budweiser [brewer Anheuser-Busch] gets letters saying, 'we'll boycott' if" Imus returns to the airwaves after his agreed-upon two-week suspension. He said the likely response is simply the show's sponsors declaring, 'I don't need this headache' -- and pressuring the radio and TV stations to keep Imus off the air."
AAPPundit: That's what its all about folks. Information on Imus Sponsors and addresses of corporate offices coming soon. It's time to boycott any advertiser involved in the Don Imus show.
