THanks for the update and encouragement, but do I sense a bit of hostility? No dis meant to Daily Kos in my diary. After all, I based this post on actions done there and I link to diaries there as the basis.

As to the ethnicity (not necessarily skin color), well the AI report indictaes a particular targeting of a particular group that is disadvantaged in America thanks to economic issues as well as outdated laws from the time that America was obsessed with Manifest Destiny. This is an issue that is broader than the one shelter and involves all of Indian Country. And that is one group in the US that gets little attention. I spend a reasonable amount of time trying to get people focused on them. I personally felt the AI report and the issues it brings up regarding the relative positions of Native America culture within the immigrant American culture were what needs to be addressed. Supporting the one shelter is wonderful and definitely a part of what needs to be done. But so are the other issues I bring up.
