I can't peel my skin off and pass as white. I can, on the other hand, pretend I'm gay if I wanted to. Of course, being gay is not an issue of choice but we have to be very weary of trying to filter everything through the lense of race. It can really much the discussion about prejudice by trying to simplify it into only one instance when, in truth, prejudice is a beast with many heads and faces.
