Another impetus for writing this blog has been the lack of a real discussion amongst the candidates on mental health and illness. This country needs to have a conversation, a frank, honest debate on what is so sorely lacking in treatment of coverage. My hope is that my story will help to do just that on sites like Culture Kitchen.

Dorothy Allison has said, "One thing I know for sure is that stories are the one sure way to touch and heart and change the world." I couldn't agree more.
