Odd...

It is odd that you phrase things this way. I for one said it would be great to see something like a Rice/Clinton fight. No one said Rice was dumb...one of the architects of an insanely failed foreign policy that has let terrorists go free and gotten us into a quagmire. But not personally dumb. We reserve THAT accusation for her boss.

You ignore the fact that we are well aware that we aren't going to like WHOEVER the Republicans pick. Of all the possibilities, I'd probably prefer Rice over any other choice. If she DID become president, she would be more like Bush's father than like Bush himself. It would also be historic in a way that almost every liberal would be proud to witness even if we disagreed with her extensively.

If Republicans choose Rice, more power to them. I will still oppose her, but it would be a far, far better choice than some of the other choices Republicans have made.

Words to live by

To the Chinese, freedom is a threat. To the right wingers, criticism of the Catholic Church was a threat. To some folks in Missouri, the fact that I continually bring up issues related to Johnson's shut-ins is a threat. Exactly how do we define a level of 'threat' in this new Gestapo brave new world? Is it in the eye of the beholder?
