In the meantime, I was surfing and found that Amnesty International is advocating that American citizens outcry against this:

Redefining rape: Bush deal would allow for sexually abusive tactics. Tell Congress to vote against it.

UPDATE: the House voted and passed President Bush's detainee legislation, which would redefine rape and sexual abuse to exclude acts previously considered abusive.

But there still time to call the Senate.

Everybody knows that Georgie got into office not once but TWICE by cheating.

Everybody knows that he has only amped up the involvement of dangerous, trained, disposable, american fighter pawns in Iraq.

Everybody knows that he's about power and domination.

Everybody knows that the government sure as hell isn't listening.

Everybody knows that all the senators and congressmen's children go to the same schools, that all the senators and congressmen golf together and that their wives go shopping at the same stores.

It's clear to me, albeit as a kkkanada-based blogger (this country's government is in complete alliance with and completely corporately controlled by the u.s.), that no one in the amerikkkan government gives a shit about process, citizen's outcries, raped prisoners or little children being blown up or irradiated.

This whole call the senate, write a congressman line is pure, unadulterated bull shite designed to give the amerikkkan public, amerikkkan progressives, amerikkkan liberals, amerikkkan feminists, amerikkkan lefties the denial based illusion that they can continue to politely fight inside and continue to respectfully engage with a diseased system, in effect remaining committed to a horrific legacy thereby still reaping the benefits of domination. They can just "demand" that government officials make minute changes, a nip here, a tuck there, without having to overhaul completely, the way their government is run or how they live their lives.

To make true change they would have to do more than start a letter writing campaign, start an email deluge or call someone in in a conflict of (dis)interest place of personal and political power repeatedly.

To make lasting change they would have to question and then lose their (from childhood on up) indoctrinated love affair with the red, the white and the blue.

They would have to take down their corrupt two political system, chase the politicians out into the streets and then start fresh.

They would have to shake the foundations of the lives they hold so dear.

They would have to stop with the Manifest Destiny bullshit that allows them to understand themselves as the best, most brilliant, most noteworthy, most intelligent people on the whole planet who reserve the right to dominate now not just the amerikkkas but the whole planet at will.

They would have to stop calling the land they live on "theirs". YOUR amerikkka ain't YOURs. It's stolen land. You're an occupying force here and all over the world including Iraq.

They would have to stop puffing up with pride over being amerikkkans when people all over the world shake with fear or scoff or rage or cry or run or smile politely at the mere mention of the name or at the sight of their flag.

They would have to rewrite their own history to fill in the gaps with the truth of who and what they are. Through that process they would become another nation, less of a global monstrosity, more of a positive example demonstrating what healthy leadership and the willingness to transform can accomplish.

And that...
is nevah gonna happen.
