My Left Wing

MyLeftwing is published by the fearless Maryscott O'Connor, one of the few diarists from DailyKos to successfully go solo.

MLW is a site with a no holds barred attitude against Republicans but their ire is unabashedly unleashed against the conservative and even moderates of the Democratic party.

MLW is like a punk band, fast, furious and very metal. Maryscott is like a cross between Exene Cervenka (when she's in a good mood) and Sid Vicious (when she's really pissed off).

I am HUGE fan of this site and their publisher. They are truly the soul of the left in the netroots.

Blac (k) ademic

Published by Kortney Ryan Ziegler, M.A. : My reasons for blogging are many, but most important, I blog to improve my writing, to connect with other bloggers of color, and to provide a space where my research has an audience outside of academia.

woman of color blog

From BrownFemiPower's blog : "i am currently a graduate student in creative writing at Eastern Michigan University--holy crap, it's a chicana who writes! my mission in life is to make lots of money (as demonstrated by my women's studies undergraduate degree and my creative writing masters degree) and to end violence in all its forms against women of color and their communities. i respect resistance but get turned on by those who create power."

Some of the most interesting discussions about how mainstream feminism can be a tool of imperialism have happened in BFPs. They take me back to my days in college and my years of rebelliousness. I love her site for that. If you want feminist infotainment, go elsewhere. If you want to have real questioning discussions about the matter, run over to BFPs blog and tell her I sent you.

Fetch me my axe

belledame222 is one of those wandering souls of the blogosphere that leaves a goddamn amazing impression everywhere she decides set camp : "Ruminating, speculating, pontificating, luxuriating, eviscerating. And cheese. And some other things. I can't name all of them here, I'm just mysterious that way. Did I say "mysterious?" I meant "lazy." Oh, well".

Arbusto de Mendacity

My English is always gonna run laps around my ability to speak Spanish, tho it's gettin better, and honestly, that's a huge part of why this blog is English-dominant. However, I also quiero demostrar that spanglish es más que una amenaza contra el español. It's a means of resistencia, or, in sunshiney terms, an opportunity for cultural contact, mutual understanding, and peaceable mingling. In short, I ain't gonna sit idly by and see only Spanish altered por el espanglish.

"If 28 percent of the white male population were in prison, I kind of think we'd be doing something about it."
