Francis...

...allow me to point out that though I'm on the record as thinking your contributions here are not to my taste, yet I still think it's appropriate for you to post here. You may have an unpopular point of view, and one which I personally think is so much chaff, but nobody is considering taking away your ability to post here or to censor your content.

That said, this ability to post here is extended to you with the intent of fostering discussion. That is not served by a diary stub which can't be appreciated unless one follows you to another blog. Rather, that concept is known as blog pimping, and this is not the place for it.

So please post your full diary here, with a link back to your blog if you like, or I'll be forced to remove this posting.

Agreed

I don't mind a bit of blog pimping. Do it myself. But only in the context of linking back to diaries. But I don't post partial diaries where there is no content unless someone clicks on a link. I may have many other links to urge people to go to, but there is always something to discuss separate from any clicking.

So I agree with Michael here. Please post a full diary. If you want to include links to related diaries, fine. But cliff hangers focing people to go to the link to discuss aren't cool.

Done.

Please see main entry. NB: future diary pimping will result in comparable steps, with a ban fully appropriate if this becomes a pattern. Not cool, not here.

Have a nice day.

Improvement!

Hell, I think the new content is better than anything any of us are writing around here.

that was brilliant. i didn't get to read anything but the deletion is brilliant. we should turn it into a policy.

I'm flustigated

and probably should just go somewhere else. But, clue me in. Are you discussing blog protocol? Or possibly Hillary? Or your personal relationships? I'd go for finding out how Bill Clinton fits into the topic. But he's not running for elective office. And seriously, are we starting to play a race card? Whichever race card.
I've had my say, and now I'll expect no reply, no excuses, no apologies from anyone to anyone. But I get an itch to click when there is a question of free expression. Are we free expressing? If so, Hurray. It's a free country, they say.

Words to live by

[...] the press was supposed to be in the business of going out to find the real authorities and reporting back to what they said. This is why I always cringe when reporters call themselves experts. No, reporters are expert only at finding experts. Now to put this back in Twitter terms: Reporters don't have authority. They have attention and possibly influence because they have so many followers. But that doesn't give them authority.
