Americans are NOT stupid

So Scoble twitters a link to this little gem showing Americans' knowledge of current affairs. Of course, for every incompetent respondent they probably found two or three people who answered thoughtfully to their questions --but that wouldn't make for good TV, wouldn't it?

What caught my eye though was the logo on the clip. I had to find out what it was all about. Well, what do you know? CNNN is a news parody show straight out of Australia and financed by the Australian Broadcasting Company. Can you imagine PBS producing The Daily Show?

I. Think. Not.

not all Americans are stupid, but some are retarded

I agree that not all Americans are stupid. But the ones who express their opinions in this "montage" are borderline retarded. How is it possible that people who live in a country who is at war with Iraq, not to know what Al-Qaeda is? It just seems pointless, just like the war in itself.

are americans not stupid?

There is a lot to say about americans and stupidity, to conclude on this video that americans are stupid is just as stupid as americans could ever be.
The reason people say they are stupid is the way some americans seem to behave sometimes, even a lot of people in power. This scares the shit out of a lot of people, america is seen as the biggest threat to world peace, and there is no way america can be beaten in war, noone wants another world war(please let me be right on this one) But what can be done and what people are doing is taking the piss out of americans, its just too easy.In a war they are a hard target, in making fun of not.

"While it may be fairly said that Mr. Lincoln entertained many Christian sentiments, it cannot be said that he was himself a Christian in faith or practice. He was no disciple of Jesus of Nazareth. He did not believe in his divinity and was not a member of his Church.

"He was at first a writing Infidel of the school of Paine and Volney, and afterwards a talking Infidel of the school of Parker and Channing....

"If the Churches had grown cold -- if the Christians had taken a stand aloof -- that instant the Union would have perished. Mr. Lincoln regulated his religious manifestations accordingly. He declared frequently that he would do anything to save the Union, and among the many things he did was the partial concealment of his individual religious opinions. Is this a blot upon his fame? Or shall we all agree that it was a conscientious and patriotic sacrifice?"
