Could someone please tell Hillary Clinton the Puerto Rico popular vote doesn't count!

Geezus fruggin cryst, the insanity of the Hillary Clinton campaign is just unbelievable.

She has a guy on CNN saying that tomorrow's primary in Puerto Rico is important because it will determine for sure that she is winning the popular vote. Not anybody in CNN has corrected this douchebag and told the audience that Puerto Ricans live in a commonwhealth, not a state and thus they have no executive, no senatorial and no congressional representation in the US government.

What does this mean?

Puerto Rico is a commonwhealth, a "free associated state". PUERTO RICO IS NOT A STATE. Puerto Ricans cannot elect a president. Citizens of the United States do not elect a president. The states are the only ones that get to elect the President of the United States.

This from the US Constitution, Article II, Secion 1 :

Section 1. The executive power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his office during the term of four years, and, together with the Vice President, chosen for the same term, be elected, as follows:

Each state shall appoint, in such manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a number of electors, equal to the whole number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or person holding an office of trust or profit under the United States, shall be appointed an elector.

The electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for two persons, of whom one at least shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves. And they shall make a list of all the persons voted for, and of the number of votes for each; which list they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed to the seat of the government of the United States, directed to the President of the Senate. The President of the Senate shall, in the presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the certificates, and the votes shall then be counted. The person having the greatest number of votes shall be the President, if such number be a majority of the whole number of electors appointed; and if there be more than one who have such majority, and have an equal number of votes, then the House of Representatives shall immediately choose by ballot one of them for President; and if no person have a majority, then from the five highest on the list the said House shall in like manner choose the President. But in choosing the President, the votes shall be taken by States, the representation from each state having one vote; A quorum for this purpose shall consist of a member or members from two thirds of the states, and a majority of all the states shall be necessary to a choice. In every case, after the choice of the President, the person having the greatest number of votes of the electors shall be the Vice President. But if there should remain two or more who have equal votes, the Senate shall choose from them by ballot the Vice President.

The Congress may determine the time of choosing the electors, and the day on which they shall give their votes; which day shall be the same throughout the United States.

So stop it, Stop It, STOP IT!

PUERTO RICO'S POPULAR VOTE DOESN'T NOT COUNT!

IT IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL TO DO SO.

STOP THE INSANITY OF THE CLINTON CAMPAIGN!

Every time you hear anybody on CNN or MSNBC repeat the bullshit about the Puerto Rican votes counting, twitter the link to this post please.

Spread this friggin' post far and wide.

Enough is enough.

Also quit claiming MI pop vote...

With zero to Obama. That's so dishonest it defies credulity. It's also the only contortion she can roll up into that will give her even one small shred of an argument for why she hasn't stepped toward unity.

If, on June 4th, she does not step out and suspend her candidacy, I will start reaching out to delegates that I know and asking them to consider switching. Here in Calif. that's a very real possibility...the mood of this state has definitely shifted away from Clinton.

The media has repeated

The media has repeated Clinton rhetoric from the beginning without questioning it (can we say 35 years of experience?). Of course, she just means that she needs more delegates. Clinton has consistently said that Obama's wins don't count because the states he won are red states. Well, what about territories that don't have electoral votes? How can they now count following her previous logic?

It was almost certain that Clinton was going to win Guam but I heard almost no mention from mainstream media when Obama ended up winning there. While Puerto Rico, Guam, the District of Columbia, etc. do matter in the Democratic Party, no one should be talking about popular votes because the popular vote does not matter - only electoral votes.

When you're losing...

....crazy is your only option. I just keep reminding myself of that when her side starts spouting nonsense. This is causing conflict in my family, too. My dad is convinced that only Hillary can clean up the mess we're in, and that Obama will lose to McCain because the people voting or him are Republicans that won't vote for him in the general. I keep telling him nobody else is getting crowds of 85,000. He says they're all Republicans. *sigh~

If you go ahead and boycott you may as well should brace yourself to risk losing your job. But to advise that as a reason not to is as wortheless as telling someone not to go to war because they may die! Obviously in fighting for anything worthy there is much risk and much sacrifice and that is what America is all about.

This is a monumental movement. Has the tumult of illegal immigrants marching helped their cause in the past? Yes it has. It brought immigrants out of the shadows and into the light. It put the 'A' for amnesty in Senate's immigration debate. What will a boycott do I am not sure but I am suspicious of all the nay sayers who tell others to be mediocre in their endeavors.

The hypocrisy of greed has led to this by allowing companies to partake in illegal hiring practices. And everyone is guilty of that from politicians to farmers to those who needed their garden hedged. This is the unfortunate backlash of a broken immigration system. We only have ourselves to blame and should stop scapegoating and criminalizing those who came here in search of a better life.
