Has Sony crossed the racist line?
Fresh over at Crunk Disorderly has asked the question : Do you think this Sony ad is racist?

My answer?
Absolutely. This is as racist as it can be. There is a huge difference between the obvious denigration of the black kid and the wet-nurse ad from Benetton, published more about 20 years ago :

I never found this ad to be racist. At all.
Discuss.
Advertising | Benetton | Blaxploitation | Popular Culture | Race | Racism | Sony | Violence | White Supremacy | WTF
I think it's racist because
it shows a desire to hurt the black guy. Also, the way she is holding them, like a boy, is a horrible racial slur here in the United States.
Furthermore
That Benetton ad is racist. It seeks to pacify people of color by saying, "look, we don't fear you. we'll let our white babies suckle ar your brown breast." absurd, offensive, and a poor substitute for genuine progress. You shouldn't let corporations treat you with such disrespect. They turn the notion of multiculturalism into a clothes marketing campaign, and you eat up every last bit of it.
See, I think it's the opposite
If it not true anymore (at least in this country) it is true that in the past many white children of privilege suckled at the tit of a black woman. So for me this ad is a reminder of who these people owe their lives too in many ways than one.

not racist
Nothing at all racist about this sony ad. Political correctness has already destroyed most genuinely provocative creativity. Within the next few years it will annilihate the rest. Part of growing up is learning when to be outraged and when not. Grow up.
