I am not a pornographer

culturekitchen is not a pornography site. We publish articles that mostly deal with the politics, economics and technologies of sex, gender and reproductive rights. Yes, we create risque titles like I am a whore, Butt-Fucking at Fenway and Mothers who like to fuck : Yep, I'm one of them. If you read the posts though, they are not pornography. On the contrary, the only full-frontal picture involving sex that appears in our archives was the wildly publicized photo of a Norwegian couple doing it for the amazonian forests. In the server move, we lost the image, btw, although you can find the original here. The closest thing to pornography is the picture of that godawful sculpture about an alleged Britney Spears giving birth; and that picture was splattered all across the news.

Which is why what I am going to describe is just absolutely insane.

I was googling my old MovableType archives because, since the system is not fully installed, I can't do internal searches. So, I go searching for birth culturekitchen.com/archives liza. I get the post that I want but when I scroll down the list, I see 4 hits for sites, two of them with "russian girls" on the URL. When I check them out, they are hardcore pornography sites that have basically stolen the HTML of my archives and plastered it on their pages. They even have the URL information for the entry.

Hardcore Russian pornographers are using my personal name, my content and my site's URLs to get their Google ranking higher. Sites that are using the term "girls" and could well be trafficking in child pornography.

Is there anything that can be done about this? I don't want to be misrepresented as having any connection with these bastards who are making money out of my content. Content that is not free but has been put on the net with a Share-Alike Creative Commons license.

And I really, seriously want to know if this is probably one of the reasons why Google and SmartFilter have erroneously marked my site as containing pornography? A site that deals mostly with the politics of reproductive rights.

My site has taken a blow since culturekitchen was dropped with no explanation from GoogleNews and since readers in India, the Middle East and the US Army have been blocked. I need help figuring out what should my next step be with Google, SmartFilter and these Russian bastards.

And to top it off, this is not the first time my site has been hijacked by Russians.

Any clues, comments, insights will be most welcomed.

Of course it's wrong that big companies get away with choosing not to offer their workers health insurance, leaving those very same workers to turn to public hospitals and Medicaid for health care, and leaving regular working people like me to pay the bill while the companies' profits go through the roof.

In this changing economy, is it really wise to pursue employer-based solutions? I mean, as progressives, aren't we supposed to be advocating for a single payer system in which every individual has access to care no matter where they work?
