Sally Fields, censorship and politically correct liberals who don't STFU

Sally Fields won an Emmy Award last night. Unfortunately, she also won another opportunity to make an ass of herself by making "the statement of the night" at another awards show broadcasted to millions of households across the globe.

I hate it when Sally Fields gets all manic and twitchy, ready for her emotionally retarded speeches. Sally Fields making "a statement" is like listening to a banshee all decked out in felt scratch his nails on a blackboard while chewing styrofoam. Dogs weep when she gets on a podium and starts soap-boxing.

Which is no wonder why people at Fox Networks decided to rather aggressively bleep her ass, blackout the TV screen and force her off the stage. Take a look at how they violently do away with her dignity :

Here's the thing : Sally should have bowed out at 1:28 in this film clip. Had she stopped at that first round of applause, she would have left with a succint speech about the importance of acknowledging the selfless work of all mothers, especially the mothers of those "left in harm's way by war". Had she taken the cue from her peers, she would have walked away with the most profound speech of not just the evening but any awards show in recent memory.

Sadly, Sally Fields had to fuck it up. She needed to bumble her way into "the statement" about the "goddamn war" giving us the nails on chalkboard speech that got too long and too easy to censor by the extremists over at FOX.

Now, mind you, Fox Network says it is not the statement about the war but her use of the word "goddamnn" that got her not only bleeped but blacked out of the TV screen. To their credit, they admit to doing it all throughout the night, censoring Ray Roman, Katherine Heigl and others.

Don't say that to the demotards that are making this seem like Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes personally conspired to gangbang poor Sally's dignity.

Over at Think Progress the crew got their panties in a bunch because technically "god dman" is not a god damn profane word. Everybody and their liberal mothers jumped into the fray to screech, "How dare you Fox TV, How dare you".

Yet nobody addresses the fact that, for a celebrated actress, Sally Fields sure makes for an awful public speaker.

The problem is that, it would be nice to be back in the days when Shit, Piss, Fuck, Cunt, Cocksucker, Motherfucker and Tits was all we needed to worry about on TV. Now it's expletives such as "god damn" and even "hell", that have given the right-wing extremists the idea to steal from the left-eing extremists the idea of crying "political correctness" and has taken us down the path of turning the FCC into the largest censorship government agency in the world.

Yes. It is the liberal PC police's fault.

Look, it's not just that FOX is pandering to the religious right with their bleeping of "god damn". Let's admit it, that's what they do as part of their "objective" and "balance" media philosophy. We've got to admit that the liberal version of FOX's kind of censorship --political correctness-- is what indeed helped fertilize mass media as a breeding ground for mainstream extremists.

Politically correct censorship of the right-wing kind is what got the FCC to fine FOX back in 2002 and 2003 for unscripted profanity by Cher and Niole Ritchie during other awards shows. Sure, the FCC lost the ability to collect the money through an appeals court, but the damage was done. Whenever one of these fines are announced, even if they are thrown out of court later, it still costs a company millions in legal fees and PR damage control.

If political correctness and general cultural disregard for the first amendment has given the FCC censorship power that translates into millions of dollars or even the loss of a broadcast license, then Fox has every right to excersice aggressive in-house censorship tactics. Fox has every right to protect it's business and censor the hell out of Sally Fields if free speech in this country is not absolute anymore.

Which brings me to the next point : You don't want a bitch to have her ass bleeped out? Then dismantle the cocksucking FCC and bring back Free Speech absolutism.

That means exactly what it is : bring back the right for anybody to broadcast anything they say, especially if it something you absolutely hate.

Free speech is not free speech if only certain forms of speech are acceptable. That means pornography, racist, facist, sexist speech ---all forms of speech need to be equally protected under the law.

Get rid of the FCC. Get rid of laws that limit our constitution.

Once you do that, then if Ms. Sally gets bleeped again, you will have a right to bitch and moan. Until then, no 'politically correct' liberal should expect me to she a tear for some celebrity's censorship victimhood. Especially someone as bad a public speaker as Sally Field.
