Open for blogging

Let's keep this a secret OK.

Don't tell anybody we are open for blogging.

Heh. Eye-wink

As far as the developers of CivicSpace are concerned, the site is ready to take in new bloggers w/o it breaking. So please, take this baby for a good (political) spin.

Some things to keep in mind:

  1. Why do you have to register? Now you will know, Sour Duck.
  2. You need to wait one-hour for your registration to be processed.
  3. Please open one membership only. If you have multiple email accounts that you want to associate with your membership, you can add them to your membership settings.
  4. You will start out as an authorized user and will not have blogging privileges for three days. Do you want to start blogging ASAP? Ask and shall receive.
  5. We have one of those editorial and privacy doo-hickeys, so please start at Welcome! after you have registered at the site.

I have been putting 16 hour days to get this site up and running. My brain is fried. Lorraine is out of the hospital and Jeff has teaching work up the wazoo.

Yes, we have been remiss in our blogging, but please, understand that all our $0,000,000 budget goes to the perks and privileges we don't have.

Don't worry if something blows up. It's not your fault. As far as I understand, culturekitchen is a new kind of CivicSpace experiment. So we are bracing ourselves for the unexpected and the pleasantly surprised.

Words to live by

“I just think this is the worst type of governmental meddling. It makes the assumption that students who are attending colleges and universities need to be coddled… that they’re not able to determine right from wrong.”

— Missouri House Minority Leader Jeff Harris, D-Columbia, during debate regarding the "Intellectual Diversity"Bill, HB 213, which would require universities to report to the General Assembly the measures they are taking to insure "intellectual diversity."
