You Do The Math

The following numbers are current as of mid-January 2006 and, except for the first two items in the list, are based on only partial information and/or best-guess estimates by informed experts and news organizations. Actual numbers are probably higher, in some cases much higher than those shown below. And needless to say, all these numbers are fluid and continue to grow larger with every passing day.

You do the math. Your mileage may vary. Contents may have settled during handling.

Any way you add it up, though...

...it is simply beyond reprehensible -- egregiously heinous, in fact -- that our current 'leaders' started this dishonest war of choice over three years ago and still continue to prosecute it today, despite all evidence of its failure and its ever-mounting human costs.

Words to live by

People seem to think that by posting in threads and agreeing with other people they are changing the world. They are not. They are posting in threads online. The universe will not be altered by forum threads, even those which are very wry. Being outraged online is a form of entertainment, and refreshing a thread to receive a hit of consensus packs the thrill of genuine activism without requiring any sweat. I'm afraid this test may require more from the community than a sardonic jpeg.
