Vietnam Vet and Former POW says McCain Unfit to be President

Republicans love to talk about the troops and our veterans. Sadly, their record is pretty sad on both supporting our troops and supporting our veterans, something I have written about before. Which may well be why our troops are supporting Barack Obama, not John McCain. This has led to quite a movement of veterans opposing the Bush/McCain republican party. VoteVets.org and Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America being two excellent veterans organizations involved in this election.

But what is most devastating is that a Vetnam Vet and former POW who KNEW McCain back in 'Nam is calling him unfit to be President:

I have always respected McCain's service to our country. But it doesn't automatically make him fit to serve as President. John Kerry had an even more impressive war record than McCain's, complete with Bronze and Silver Stars, some of America's top military honors. Yet the Republicans refused to honor Kerry's war record, instead insulting all decorated Veterans by calling into question the validity of military decorations like the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Silver Star. I honor John McCain's service. But I also listen to his fellow Vietnam Veteran when he tells us McCain is not fit to be President.

QUOTES

Do we not hear the noise of the grave-diggers who are burying God? Do we not smell the divine putrefaction? - for even Gods putrefy! God is dead! God remains dead! And we have killed him! How shall we console ourselves, the most murderous of all murderers? The holiest and the mightiest that the world has hitherto possessed, has bled to death under our knife - who will wipe the blood from us? With what water could we cleanse ourselves? What lustrums, what sacred games shall we have to devise? Is not the magnitude of this deed too great for us? Shall we not ourselves have to become Gods, merely to seem worthy of it?

— Frederich Nietzsche
