Josh breaks down the ACORN hysteria

Making my life far easier in digesting the news :

ACORN registers lots of lower income and/or minority voters. They operate all across the country and do a lot of things beside voter registration. What's key to understand is their method. By and large they do not rely on volunteers to register voters. They hire people -- often people with low incomes or even the unemployed. This has the dual effect of not only registering people but also providing some work and income for people who are out of work. But because a lot of these people are doing it for the money, inevitably, a few of them cut corners or even cheat. So someone will end up filling out cards for nonexistent names and some of those slip through ACORN's own efforts to catch errors. (It's important to note that in many of the recent ACORN cases that have gotten the most attention it's ACORN itself that has turned the people in who did the fake registrations.) These reports start buzzing through the right-wing media every two years and every time the anecdotal reports of 'thousands' of fraudulent registrations turns out, on closer inspection, to be either totally bogus themselves or wildly exaggerated. So thousands of phony registrations ends up being, like, twelve.

Go read the whole thing.

Sarah Palin broke the law by abusing her executive power

Seems rather convenient for the governor to have had our Alaskan friends release the abuse of power investigation way past 5pm EST on a Friday. And it's a 263-page report at that!

It looks like a mixed bag of findings. Palin didn't break labor laws when she decided to reassign the then Public Safety Commissioner, Walt Monegan, as retaliation for his insubordination. Of course, her camp is spinning it as a decisive victory for her.

Yet the report does say she broke ethics laws by abusing her executive power. In her case though was her inability to reign in her husband's "inappropriate efforts" in trying to get their ex-brother in-law fired

Betty White, FTMFW!

Not only does she call Sarah Palin a crazy bitch, she also said that if Barack Obama needed more experience, she could so totally give it to him. She thinks he's one sexy piece of man, LOL!

Enjoy Betty's mischief on the Craig Ferguson show.

Brtiney Spears' "Womanizer"

Here's a hint : When am caught in a loop of videos or gossip posts, it's because I've been doing some serious pondering in preparation for a long post/article.

Hence La Britney.

What a hot mess.  I don't remember so much nakedness in a music video. What do you think?

Fauxmosexuals and celesbianism

They are both the awesome words of the day!

A fauxmosexual is a hetero who tries use celesbianism as a marketing ploy a la Katy Perry. Why? Because celesbians are only famous for being lesbians and very little else. It's like shooting fish in a barrel in a culture where media presentations of lesbians are the most often borne of male heterosexual sexual fantasies.

So even if it is surprising it is not shocking that Katy Perry would jump on the celebianism bandwagon to move an album or two. Up until last year she was a daughter of Christian Evangelical pastors, struggling as a Christian pop-singer under the name Katy Hudson.

Cue an overnight makeover, some fauxmosexual lyrics, a masterfully manufactured image and behold! A new, improved and, it goes without saying, successful product.

The markets, they are crazy!

The market is up

The market just closed.

The market was actually -700+ points and under 8,000. It closed around 8477.48 and more or less -104.50 points.

You can see by the TV screenshot, it had gone up and it was close to 9000 pts.

This is insane.

The market is freefalling while am watching CNN

Free fall

I can't believe what's happening. The market lost more than 100 points in between news segments; going from -380+/- to -527.83 (the moment I took this post's pic).

It's up to -493.90 as I push "post".

"I believe in a wall between church and state so high that no one can climb over it.

"When religion controls government, political liberty dies; and when government controls religion, religious liberty perishes.

"Every American has the constitutional right not to be taxed or have his tax money expended for the establishment of religion.

"For too long the issue of government aid to church related organizations has been a divisive force in our society and in the Congress. It has erected communication barriers among our religions and fostered intolerance."
