If you are like me, you get tired of being called 100 times a day by call centers despite being on the do not call list. Usually I am polite. But sometimes I snap. Too many calls I don't want selling me insurance or dish network or whatever and I get somewhat snappish to the call center worker.

Keep this in mind next time you are tempted to snap and a poor, underpaid call center worker:

At a call center in Indiana, 40 call center workers were so disgusted by lies the McCain campaign wanted them to read to people they called that they sacrificed a day's pay and walked out. Yes...McCain is THAT BAD!

Some three dozen workers at a telemarketing call center in Indiana walked off the job rather than read an incendiary McCain campaign script attacking Barack Obama, according to two workers at the center and one of their parents.

Nina Williams, a stay-at-home mom in Lake County, Indiana, tells us that her daughter recently called her from her job at the center, upset that she had been asked to read a script attacking Obama for being "dangerously weak on crime," "coddling criminals," and for voting against "protecting children from danger."

Hillary Clinton won in Indiana by by 1.39%. In North Carolina though, Obama trounced her by a 14% margin.

As I called it during my live twitter stream, HRC went from a double digit lead to 1-2% win. She squeaked it and it looks like the TV pundits finally have caught on to the fact that Ms. Clinton would have to get the superdelegates to decide the election in her favor.

Tony Zirkle, who is seeking the Republican nomination in northern Indiana's 2nd District, stood in front of a painting of Hitler, next to people wearing swastika armbands and with a swastika flag in the background for the speech to the American National Socialist Workers Party in Chicago on Sunday.

The event Zirkle attended was in celebration of Hitler's birthday. These people are real Nazis, losers who still believe in Hitler's ideology more than 60 years after Hitler got his ass kicked.

Of course this is no surprise coming from a Republican who is pro-segregation.

Republicans are not Nazis. But the ties between Republicans and white supremicists and their willingness to accept intolerance is disgusting to me. Also in Indiana, Republican Speaker of the Indiana House Brian Bosma told a group of Jews they didn't matter because only 2% of the population is Jewish. Ann Coulter has attacked Judaism and Islam. Racism is a frequently used and well-documented tactic by the Republican Party in electoral politics. A Republican in Montana has been openly racist towards a Native American politician. Right-wingers in Delaware have even carried out a genuine pogrom against a Jewish and a Muslim family. Prominent Republicans even blame Jewish conspiracies for their problems. Anti-Semitism, racism and intolerance are rampant in the Republican Party these days.

It is rare that you find me praising a Republican, but I do believe in giving credit where credit is due. Republican Governor of Indiana, Micth Daniels, is doing something that Bush has only given lip service to: working towards energy independence. As the newly elected Congressional Democrats from Indiana are working with the Democratic majority in Congress for energy independence, Governor Daniels is taking a small step on a local level.

As portrayed in a recent Current TV segment, Indiana has chosen one small town, Reynolds, Indiana, and declared it "Bio-Town" (locally called "Turd-town" for reasons that will become apparent) in an attempt to show America how local solutions can turn America energy independent.

With government help (the step Bush ignores but Daniels recognizes as critical), Reynolds is going through a three-phase transition to achieve the following goals:

* Developing homegrown, local energy production to become independent from foreign sources

* Creating a cleaner environment

* Implementing solutions to animal waste management issues

* Developing new markets for Indiana agricultural products and byproducts

The main thrust seems to be biofuels, as one might expect from an agricultural state. I want to emphasizez that biofuels are not as good as, for example, wind energy, but let's not kid ourselves. Local solutions mean local solutions, and for an agricultural state, biomass made from sewage and animal waste (hence Turd-town) and ethanol from crops are a reasonable and probably necessary way to go.
