Teacher With a Tude

Teacher With a Tude's picture

I am a pragmatic romantic who expects the best but prepares for the worst. ... and a proud member for 3 years 11 weeks

I currently reside in Southern California after spending the first part of my life on the east coast. I am forty something, and I have been teaching for twenty years. I could write a book about it, if I could find the time. Happily married with two boys, ages six and two, my biggest challenge is balancing the domestic life with the professional life. I currently work in an alternative school, which is a vocation for me. My students are what I once was. Oh, and the attitude? On good days, it's one of gratitude. I've been sober for 12 years now.

[...] the press was supposed to be in the business of going out to find the real authorities and reporting back to what they said. This is why I always cringe when reporters call themselves experts. No, reporters are expert only at finding experts. Now to put this back in Twitter terms: Reporters don't have authority. They have attention and possibly influence because they have so many followers. But that doesn't give them authority.
